About this program

The Friendship Crew program consists of 12 sessions where the participants work together through The Friendship Guide which helps build their social awareness, self-awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision making skills. They also participate in fun activities that help reinforce the guidelines presented in the journal. F2FBFF’s Friendship Guide lays out 30 guidelines about being you, being a good friend, and choosing good friends. This journal and its accompanying curriculum were designed using the CASEL Social Emotional Learning Competencies* and are to be utilized as a DISCUSS, JOURNAL, SHARE activity for a small group, with an adult mentor. Groups should be between 6-10 participants within the same age range. Our Friendship Crew Program is intended for middle school aged children, grades 5th through 8th. After the 12 Friendship Crew sessions, the participants should be more confident about making friends, keeping friends, and letting go of friends who might not be good for them.

*SEL (Social Emotional Learning) is the process through which young people acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.
