Origin Story
Dena and Sarah met while teaching 4th grade. Meeting during the 2019-2020 school year made for a very interesting school year and a fast friendship. Between the two of them, they have more than 30 years of teaching experience and they have taught every grade from kindergarten to 12th grade. Their own children were the true inspiration for this program. They started writing The Friendship Guide as part of an idea to put together a middle school boot camp to help their kids navigate the changes in friendships that take place during the middle school years and beyond. As they worked, they realized how beneficial this would be for a wider audience. They had many conversations about the changes they have seen in their students’ social emotional capacities as the years flowed past while teaching. So, they tested their program at their own schools to see if this was a skill needing to be cultivated. Their suspicions were correct and that is how F2FBFF was born!
